Network OrganizationsÌý

Ìý

The Action Collaborative on Combatting Substance Use and Opioid Crises isÌýa one-of-a-kind public-private partnership that comprises government, communities, health systems, provider groups, payers, industry, nonprofits, academia, and more – all committed to sharing knowledge, aligning ongoing initiatives, and advancing collective, multi-sector solutions.Ìý

We understand that the opioid epidemic is complex and multi-sectoral, and that it will take all of us to ensure that evidence-based solutions reach those who need them most. Therefore, we invite you to join our expanding group of Network Organizations to help disseminate and translate promising approaches to reversing the trends of the opioid epidemic.

Ìý

What Does It Mean to Be a Network Organization?

Network Organizations commit to developing and disseminating evidence-based strategies in the Action Collaborative’s four focus areas:

  1. Health professional education and training
  2. Pain management guidelines and evidence standards
  3. Prevention, treatment, and recovery services
  4. Research, data, and metrics needsÌý

Network Organizations actively support the work of the Action Collaborative but are distinct from the member organizations of the Action Collaborative, including its sponsors, steering committee, and working group members.

Network Organizations:

  • receive regular updates on the work of the Action Collaborative, including priority invitations to public meetings and advance notice of new resources and publications;
  • receive communications tools such as infographics and social media toolkits to disseminate to their own communications networks; and
  • are featured on the NAM website, along with an organizational commitment statement describing current and/or future work in the four focus areas.

We expect that Network Organizations will:

  • participate actively in the work of the Action Collaborative (e.g., by attending meetings and responding to requests for information);
  • promote announcements about activities and products of the Action Collaborative;
  • provide feedback on outreach strategies, product impact, and other Action Collaborative activities;
  • respond to a quarterly survey about which Action Collaborative products the Network Organization participated in and/or shared with its’ networks; and
  • support the Action Collaborative’s social media and public engagement campaigns.

Ìý

Criteria for Becoming a Network Organization

  • Participation is restricted to organizations (legal entities) only. Individuals or groups of individuals are not eligible to become a Network Organization.
  • Legal entities with a primary financial interest in developing, manufacturing, producing, distributing, or marketing any drug or device are not eligible to become a Network Organization. This exception is in place to preserve the trust and independence of the Action Collaborative.
  • Participation as a Network Organization is subject to approval of the organization’s application and submission of a commitment statement.

Ìý
